Wow - a replica of the watermelon that held the 1983 Guinness World Record! We happened to be at the store - Conrad Farms, Inc. 7400 East 151 Street, Bixby, Oklahoma. What I like about this store is that they have all kinds of nuts, but we only bought almonds (inshell $2.79/lb), pecans (inshell $4.59/lb) and hazelnuts (inshell $3.69/lb) And I love nuts!

It was on sale at a supermarket at 10MRinggit for 5 packets. It saved us the trouble of opening up the thorny husk and the possibility that not all the flesh inside are good.

It was fun watching Mike eating the king of the fruit for the first time! He started with a pinch of the soft custard-like flesh

Except for the brown spots on their peels, they are not over-ripe. I prefer these than the complete yellow peels. These are softer and sweeter. We got all of these for $1.

For the 1st time I saw what a dragon fruit tree looked like.



Is brinjal (also known as eggplant or aubergine) a fruit or a vegetable? It is actually a fruit eaten as cooked vegetable! This pendulous purple colored brinjal is common.


These elongated oval shaped whitish-green brinjal is new to me. They taste as good, when cooked with anchovies or dried prawn or curry.

They are so fresh and delicious. And cheap too - $1.00 for 1 lb (19 pcs) of strawberries. I didn't care for it before but after this pack .............. I love it! Maybe different country different taste!

Mother's Mangoes

These mangoes must be waiting for me to take picture of them! I have said that I wanted to take a picture when Uncle Ni and Sister Monica were here!

Little Clinton was asking me "Aunty, when are you going to take a picture?" I better do it before they are all gone from the branches. I can't remember when was the last time Mother's tree had so many!

Mother has 2 big mango trees, that are over 20 years old and are still fruiting. They are different types. Mum would collect the ones that had dropped to the ground and sell them. They smell good, taste good and there are no worms!
